Police took their time recognizing the serious condition of Ryan Waller, and initially thought he was responsible for the death of his girlfriend.
In fact, Waller should have been taken to a hospital for medical treatment immediately. He had been shot twice in the head and lost both eyes and a large portion of his brain.
Fortunately, his strength and perseverance helped investigators pinpoint the killers. The two men who were most likely responsible were Waller’s former roommate and his father, Larry Carver.
Ryan Waller Richie Carver
After the death of Heather Carver, her son Ryan and ex-flatmate Richie Carver, the two men took revenge. In an effort to cover up the crime, they broke into Heather Carver’s house, shot her, and stole items.
They were convicted of felony murder, aggravated assault, and misconduct involving a weapon. As a result of their actions, Richie Carver spent more than a decade in prison.
When the two were taken into custody, Waller was still conscious, but he was confined to the back of a patrol car for six hours and then was held in an interrogation room for two hours.
By the second day, Waller was facing irreversible brain damage. The bullet that struck him twice in the head entered his nose, eye, and brain. He underwent multiple surgeries and lost part of his brain. He eventually died from his injuries ten years later.
Ryan Waller Larry Lloyd Carver
Ryan Waller was a young man from Knoxville, Tennessee. At the time of his death, he was living with his girlfriend, Heather Quan, in Phoenix, Arizona. While they were sitting in the living room, Larry Carver and his son Ritchie showed up. It’s unclear what happened, but police believe that they were apprehensive about Ryan’s murder because he was a gadget lover.
Ryan Waller‘s roommate was Larry Lloyd Carver, who is also the suspect in the killing of Heather Quan. Carver and his son, Richie, were once roommates.
However, after the incident, Carver and his son got into an altercation. After the incident, Larry and Richie returned to the apartment, seeking revenge.
Richie Carver’s son Ryan Waller
Ryan Waller is the son of Richie Carver, a local musician and convicted murderer. He grew up in the neighborhood and lived next door to his father.
He took an interest in guitars when he was younger and was able to play several songs within a short period of time. He had better guitars than his father and a computer and several electronic gadgets.
The case was tried as a first degree murder, attempted murder, burglary, aggravated assault, and child endangerment. He was also accused of breaking and entering the home and assaulting Heather Quan.
Eventually, Larry Carver’s wife refused to testify and the case was retried in November 2011. His son Ryan Waller was found not guilty of the murder, but Larry Carver was convicted of burglary, aggravated assault, and aggravated assault.
